Hi again Bob, I just had a look at the parts for the FT857 and it has a similar latch with a tiny spring. Its part number is R0137551 and, being a more recent rig, they may still have some of them in stock. Probably only a few cents worth so worth getting one to try it. I always try to go for the simple solutions first. At lease you’ve found the latch. A bit of a search around may find a suitable spring from somewhere.
