RF is not getting into - just to be clear. The FT100 was at one time (before factory mods were made) prone to stray RF 'getting in'Bob G4KSG Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

      When you’re reasonably sure your mic gain is set properly, and your mic is OK, the next thing to check is RF getting into where it should not - try some ferrite chokes on your mic, antenna and power cables, see if that helps. End-fed, off-center-fed, and mistuned mobile antennas as notorious for sending RF back down the feedline.
