Maybe the batteries you put in were also dead too?

  Subject: [VR-500] Flashing LCD

Yesterday, for no obvious reason, the LCD began to flash. I changed out
the batteries, but that didn't help. I also completely reset the
scanner, but that was no help either. Sometimes I can get it to stop
flashing by turning it off and on quickly, but once it starts scanning
again it begins to blink again (and the scanning stops, too). Also,
when I turn the squelch down all the way there is no audio.

  Is my VR-500 doomed?
