Hi, I agree about the low battery behaviour. As you
have probably found, it is often impossible to use or
to turn off the radio once the low battery warning has
started, and it usually runs out of juice and corrupts
something or other. The bandscope corruption can be
cured by turning on the bandscope and then holding in
the function key and pressing the "mode" key a couple
of times. I sent Yaesu an email a couple of years ago
about these problems and they replied to say that my
comments had been passed on to their development team,
but no firmware upgrades or fixes have been forthcoming.

Generally speaking it's a useful little radio, but could
be made a lot better with little development effort. I
wonder if current versions of the VR-500 include any fixes!!

Regards

Voi
