Hello,

I did disassemble my VR-500 several times, for example I changed the
WFM filter to 110kHz for WFM broadcast DX. So, if you are familiar
with SMD soldering, it should be no problem in general to do it. You
need to unsolder some shielding and the antenna connector, and also
to unscrew the knobs from the chassis (you need special tooling for
that). The speaker is not connected by wires, there are kind of
elastic metallic stripes pressing on solder pads on the last PCB - so
you need to unmount all.
If you are not experienced in such things - don't try it!

Another question: does anybody own a a VR-500 service manual? I would
like to try to improve the 0-30MHz input stage, I have some ideas how
to do it but unfortunately I do not have a readable schematic. Could
anybody help, please?
