At one time, I thought I saw a list of all known birdies for the VR-500. FWIW, mine also has the 15.2 MHz birdie. Bob Parnass, AJ9S, documents birdies above 30 MHz in this MT review: http://www.monitoringtimes.com/html/mtscan0200.pdf And could/should be programmed in the Frequency Skip Memory Bank (memory S00 - S99). See page 12 in the manual. The VR-500 is very reliable. I have had mine for 8 years now and not a single problem. I do not use it as much as I have in the past, just mostly collecting dust now. ----- Original Message ----- Subject: Re: [VR-500] Re: New member, VR-500 arrives! Ed, Thanks! I haven't tried setting the VR-500 to NAM mode yet, so far I've done well with it just as it is. One problem I did run into is the presence of a strong internal spur on 15.200, and a weaker but still overpowering one on 15.400MHz. I can't find anything here that might be generating carriers on those frequencies, so they must be internal. Other than that, the VR-500 is passing all my tests on favorite frequencies. The real test apparently will be how reliable the radio is. Time will tell. The warranty card will take a year to fill out, they want to know everything about me! Chuck
