If I use the rechargable battery pack, I assume the system senses that it is a rerchargable pack, not the AA batteries.

Somebody on the group raised the issue about a 30 mA charging rate... that is the trickle rate on my FT-817ND. I "float" the FT-817ND on line all the time. ONLY if I am doing extended QSOs or net control, is there any indication that I'm running the battery down. Since I run the rig maybe an hour a day, I have 23 hours at 30 ma to recharge, which seems more than sufficient.

Any thoughts??
