I find that the Miracle Whip antenna, with a SO-259 to BNC male adapter works great for HF. However, that puts quite a strain on the VR-500 BNC fitting. Other than a jumper cord and 2 hands, has anybody on the group worked up a way to deal with this? I was thinking of attaching a 1/4"-20 nut or "T" nut to the back of the case on the Miracle Whip, then putting it on a tripod, or the like. I really don't want to drill holes in the MW case, but there does appear to be clearance for #4-40 machine screws near the bottom of the back. Any thoughts would be appreciated. BTW, a 3/8" "O" ring does wonders to improve the seal at the bottom of the "Ducky" stock antenna in addition to the rubber washer they provide. /paul W3FIS
