Yahoo's search can be hit or miss, but often digs up info in a pinch that is useful. Last I remember, all the hidden features were available in most markets, if not all (my CRS is bad today) and there haven't been changes made to a product that was developed more than a decade ago. If properly enabled, it should work for you. It's been awhile since I've used my 500s, so I'm a little iffy on things, hope I got this right for you. A full reset may solve some issues, not sure if this is one of those or not. Instructions for that can be found as noted above. Antenna choice is pretty important on shortwave, too, if it's a reception issue you're not certain of and you did manage to get narrow AM enabled.
