the way i reset it was to turn the radio off then push the clr button while i turned the radio on then u push set

Isn't there a key-activated system reset?..maybe I'm thinking of another rx'ver but maybe there is an issue or problem that hard reset could cure...(it may clear any recent programming)...I'll do a little research....could've sworn that there was a way for the VR5K also...I'll post what I find ......... there may be somebody already familiar

Have you tried disconnecting the power from the back of the receiver for an hour, then reconnecting it and trying it again? 



PS: I trimmed the junk from my reply, since the digests were getting unmanageable.
