I have a similar problem, but it extends to SSB RX too. Not sure if you've tried SSB But I can bet it does not work also. In my case I think that the culprit is the audio switching IC that selects the input to the audio amplifier. I did not yet repair the unit but most than likely this is the problem. A scope attached to the input switch will tell the whole story.
