I am pretty sure the active mixer they used as a product detector is bad. I see the 455kHz IF signal up to the mixer the BFO oscillators for USB and LSB are working but I get no output. Just to be sure I injected an audio signal at the mixer output and heard it loud and clear in the speaker. The part is no longer made but you can get them on Ebay. The replacement is in transit so I'll let you know how it goes when it gets here. It is one of the few through-hole parts on the board so it should be easy to swap it out. I hope.
