Try these steps - - 

TO SAVE A FREQUENCY TO MEMORY
-Press [V/M] to select VFO Mode
-Select Frequency, mode, att, etc. 
-Press [F], then [V/M], then [ENT]
-Press [>] or [<] to select Bank, Dial to Channel
-Press [COPY] (cursor has moved to ‘Write’), Press [ENT]

TO NAME/RENAME A MEMORY CHANNEL ALPHA TAG
-Select Channel of interest
-[F], then [V/M], Dial to ‘CH TAG’, [ENT]
-Use Dial & [>] or [<] to write Label
-[ENT], Dial to ‘END’, [ENT] (Write) [ENT] again

PLEASE HELP THE MANUAL IS CONFUSING ,I just need the real easy steps to add a frequency and assign a frequency number, age has caught up to me.
