I had this problem about a year ago, so I sent it back to Yaesu. It only cost around $35 and took a week turnaround time. The tech even called me to let me know what was wrong and get authorization for the repair. Someone else called to tell me when it shipped. Great service! When I had to send in my FT-897D, the story was much the same: crazy low price and quick turnaround! So, I'm pretty darn happy with Yaesu service. May you all have the same experience! 73!
