Hi Bob, The radio works fine. Does a lot for a small radio I just ordered an Icom IC-Q7a to replace the VR-120 the icom allows short range transmission on 2 meters and 440. Plus has the bells and whistles of the VR-120 I am looking at 45.00 for the VR-120 with the manual and antenna also a set of batteries. I don't have the orig box but who saves boxes today. I was very suprised to find that the Icom with 350mw power does very well upon connecting the outside 2 meter antenna the rig suprised me with working a repeater 20 miles away with no problems. It also makes a nice mobile using a small magnet mount. I found that the radios perform about the same on 2 meters and 440. The VR-120 also does shortwave and quite well also. I am not pushing the radio so if interested let me know but it will be here if you want it.
