www-BLAST help

I have installed Cygwin on my WinXP computer, and installed the www-BLAST binary for linux to the BLAST directory under htdocs. Apache runs fine, the BLAST.html page looks fine, BLAST.cgi seems to run ok, but the program then gives me a white page.
The error log says:
../blast.REAL: 1: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting ")")

The only thing that I have modified is the httpd.conf.
Does anyone have ideas about what is wrong with my installation of www-BLAST? I am guessing that there is something incorrect in my conf file, but I don't know enough to figure out what might be wrong. TIA
Steve Peterson
