It would help if you could tell us what you want to cover during the last weeks. Also, what grade level are you teaching, so we know how much information you would like to cover. Is it possible for you to drop off lesson plans at the school and possibly talk to the substitute and go over the lesson plans? I have no choice but to take 4 weeks off to take care of him until some distant family members can move in to help. I will be taking leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act and won't be getting paid (since I don't have that much leave built up), but I am certainly not just going to leave them with a sub until I get back (we'll have about 3 weeks left when I return). > So here's my problem - how do I teach "remotely"? The students will be stuck with a sub, which in my state only means someone with a high school diploma, not an actual teacher. I teach lower-level chemistry and physical science and we do not have an end-of-course test so technically I can teach whatever I want in these courses. I have been sticking to the state guidelines, but now I am just hoping to get some ideas for helping my students learn something related to science while I'm gone. > I am asking you wonderful people to help me figure out how/where to get together material that the students can and will essentially teach themselves.
