On behalf of a colleague I recently exchanged email with Jeffrey Goldberg
on the subject of subscribing to the List.

His reply was:

...there are minor differences from your posting below as you can see.
May one assume that the two procedures are essentially equivalent in
function even though they differ slightly in format...and that both work
equally well..?
