I mostly lurk on this list and only very occasionally post. Here goes.........

The whole ID cards thing seems to encourage discussion and debate in 
ways the Government would love to have across a whole range of areas. 
Though maybe they aren't ecstatic about having it on this particular topic!

We shouldn't knock people having - and expressing - views. Indeed, 
being able to do so is, as one poster pointed out, a freedom we 
should embrace, not one we should suppress.

It is interesting to see discussion going on here from a particular 
perspective of over 60's discounts, and I am happy to read more 
thoughts if people want to post them.

There's nothing wrong with this list poking a nose out of its BP box 
from time to time. Indeed other lists I belong to can be invigorated 
by off topic debates. You even get lurkers deciding to post !!

So keep it up.
