Mike... I read Marks' book when it first appeared in 1998 and don't recall any instances that caused me to question its authenticity. I'm curious as to the points in the book where, in your view, these occur. If you read French, Vincent Nouzille's 'L'espionne', Fayard, 2007 gives some insight into the wartime activities of SOE via this biography of Virginia Hall. I do not believe it has been translated into English though I am aware that such a translation has been proposed. David H.
