ial comprises=0Amandibular remains preserving dental bases and two vertebra=
e of the mid=0Acervical series. The morphology and arrangement of the denta=
l bases show a=0Asimilar pattern to that observed in European and Chinese c=
tenochasmatids,=0Abut can be distinguished from those other South American =
ctenochasmatids=0Areported from Argentina and Uruguay. The new vertebrae sh=
are certain=0Acharacteristics with the mid cervical vertebrae of ctenochasm=
atids, such as=0Avery elongated centra with low neural arches, low and elon=
gated neural=0Aspines, the presence of postexapophyses and a pair of oval p=
neumatic=0Aforamina on the lateral surfaces of the centra. Although most of=
 these=0Afeatures are shared with the mid cervical vertebrae of azhdarchid=
=0Apterosaurs, the lower integration of the neural arch, which does not=0Aa=
cquire a tubular morphology in the mid-point of the vertebral centrum,=0Ato=
gether with the presence of oval pneumatic foramina, are characteristics=0A=
that allow the referral of both vertebrae to the Ctenochasmatidae. The=0Ave=
rtebral, mandibular and rostral remains from Cerro La Isla suggest the=0Apr=
esence of a previously unknown ctenochasmatid pterosaur, distinct from=0APt=

amina, are characteristics that allow the referral of both vertebrae to the=
 Ctenochasmatidae. The vertebral, mandibular and rostral remains from Cerro=
 La Isla suggest the presence of a previously unknown ctenochasmatid pteros=
aur, distinct from Pterodaustro, the only other South American taxon.</div>=
