Since I can't tell which ones are not needed I'll not remove
anything and translate all strings even if some of them will 
not be used.

Do you mean it will not even appear in the preferences menu
for the new language or it will appear but will not have
any afect?

How about the single quote character? Should it also have a backslash
before it?

I see. Ok. I'll do that. I don't want to send a half baked translation.
However I'm not an experienced wiki user and I may not be able to 
cover all wiki functionality. On the other hand, I don't think there
is anybody who will complain about broken features. At least for
now...
