I fully agree with Herman's proposal: involving more groups is much
closer to the spirit of open source. In addition, this will make the
project stronger as it will have more support from the various
institutions from the beginning. In addition it would benefit from a
larger experience. But there will be probably an additional difficulty
in trying to find common grounds...
