Hi all,
Following in the spirit of Herman, Peter and Takis, we now release OROCOS@KTH
comm patterns v0.0.1. (Thanks for this email template:-)
Please visit the web site http://cogvis.nada.kth.se/orocos/ for downloads and
documentation. Only CVS access is available at this time.

Please note that this software is still in alpha stage and is not usable for
anything else than as a basis for experimentation and discussion.

The software is based on the TAO CORBA implementation, thus a compiled version
of ACE+TAO is a pretty firm requirement. Later, other orbs will be supported.
The language is C++. Platforms are in theory all those supported by TAO, but
has so far only been tested on Linux.

More notes: Unlike the orocos software announced the other day, this software
is not meant for running on realtime systems. Rather, it is meant for
communication between higher level components, such as behaviors typical for
service robots.

We would also like to take the opportunity to point out that we shortly will
announce a proposal for an object-hierarchy to be used within orocos.
