Orocos as PLC engine?

Hi, 

I'm currently searching for something which can be used as a runtime
engine for a PLC. My impression is that Orocos is very centered on
motion control, so I'm wondering if it could be used for general control
as well.

Are other people working on something like that as well? 

And is somebody coming to the OCEAN meeting next week in Stuttgart?
