The Robots package is, as the download page specifies, "a badly documented playground where we test new concepts and evaluate all the other aspects of Orocos. Nice if it works for you, but use at your own risk." but if you insist, kukaSim is what we use to do userspace simulations of the robot, which we can debug, the revalidation robot is a 2 times 1D robot our students use for implementing their control algorithms. To compile robots, you need comedi installed, and all options enabled of the other orocos packages.
