Hi, I would like to ask you to have a look at the Orocos web page (http://www.orocos.org/) where you can find links to the different Orocos software packages. They all contribute to the same goal of open source frameworks for robotics but focus on different aspects. SmartSoft first of all addresses issues of component interaction for robotics. Leuven provides an elaborate framework for control etc. Currently only the implementation of KTH is a parallel implementation of the ideas behind SmartSoft. The different packages evolve in parallel since they address different topics but they also share already many ideas. The Orocos meetings so far also made clear, where and how the different packages meet each other. In particular the minutes of the most recent Leuven meeting are very helpful.
