Does somebody have a good vision on the OpenGL visualisation efforts
that have been growing here and there without too much coordination?

I can think of support libraries such as libQGLViewer
<http://www-imagis.imag.fr/Membres/Gilles.Debunne/CODE/QGLViewer/>
which provide the kind of wrappers that we have been developping too,
but in a more "professional" way. libQGLViewer has support for
some things that are directly useful to Orocos (such as the keyframe,
x3dViewer and SpinningFrame examples show).
(libQGLViewer has Qt bindings only.)

Or we work towards integration with larger projects such as
 Coind3D/OpenInventor <http://www.coin3d.org>
   (has Gtk, Xt/Motif and Qt bindings, as well as Win32. And C++, Java and
   Python APIs), or
 OpenCascade <http://www.opencascade.com/>, or
 Blender <www.blender.org>?
