I tried to find some more links on the internet, and the query on 
"arcnet mitsubishi robot linux" gave me a lot of useful results. The
Mitsubishi PA-10 robot is using ARCnet for interfacing with your own
(realtime) PC, so the people using such robots are the ones you should be
able to ask for more concrete information (and open source drivers :-)
