Summary: stage worlds/simple.world fails on fresh install

Initial Comment:
Hi all,
I just did a fresh install of player 3.0.2 and Stage 4.0.1 (from GitHub) on an amd64 system running Gentoo Linux. I followed the instructions on http://rtv.github.com/Stage/install.html and installed Stage successfully, after encountering bugs related to region.cc and p_graphics.cc and fixing them as per instructions in this forum.

Now, how do I fix the following errors:

$ stage worlds/simple.world
Stage 4.0.1
 [Loading worlds/simple.world][Include pioneer.inc][Include map.inc][Include sick.inc]f: worlds/simple.world
Libtool error: file not found. Can't open your plugin controller. Quitting
err: Failed to open "wander". Check that it can be found by searching the directories in your STAGEPATH environment variable, or the current directory if STAGEPATH is not set.]
 (/home/ro/playerstagegazebo/rtv-Stage-508538b/libstage/model_load.cc LoadControllerModule)
libtool error #2

Also,

$ stage worlds/fasr.world
Stage 4.0.1
 [Loading worlds/fasr.world][Include pioneer.inc][Include map.inc][Include sick.inc]f: worlds/fasr.world
Libtool error: file not found. Can't open your plugin controller. Quitting
err: Failed to open "source 100 1". Check that it can be found by searching the directories in your STAGEPATH environment variable, or the current directory if STAGEPATH is not set.]
 (/home/ro/playerstagegazebo/rtv-Stage-508538b/libstage/model_load.cc LoadControllerModule)
libtool error #2
