Indeed, Robert, it is quite early in the season, and the big prizes are to be won in February! Dahl Johansson is coming up indeed. And the results of Hege are promising. I dont know the circumstances of the races, but the top is very small, with the ladies as with the men. Lunde Pedersen, while skating a few good 3000 ms this season, seems so far to be at approx the same (slighty disappointing) level as last year. Håvard Bøkko’s results in his come back season seem so far not to suggest any top 6 positions in the Olympics and not any samalog medals in the all round championships. Henriksen and Spieler Nielsen’s performances are perhaps slighty better than at the same time last year, but not much. Lorentzen has skated very well, but looking at the results from foreign competitors so far, he will have very tough competition. Aarnes Hvammen seems to be completely out of shape. Hege Bøkko maybe a little bit behind schedule and expectations after the superb performance at last year’s Sprint WCh. Ida Njåtun seems to be really struggling to get back to her level a few seasons ago. The most promising is Dahl Johansson. While some maybe have expected him to progress even faster, I think his last two 1500 ms bode quite well. He also PBed with 10 secs at the 5000 m, although he’s still a bit behind f.ex. some Dutch junior peers. But it’s early in the season, let’s see what the first World Cup races will bring. Or am I too negative now?
