The one characteristic that stands out in the Space
Law advocates is that they are all earth-centric.
Space to them is a program and not a place, as it
were. To them, humans might explore and/or exploit
space, but would never live there. If space
colonization is ever to become a reality, people
living in space will have lifestyles so different than
the earth norm -- due to the nature of their
environment(s) -- that out of necessity they would
require their own autonomy. Of course this has been
covered before in books, etc., but I can't help but
think this is the way things will go.
