Intelligent Energy and PSA Peugeot Announce Joint Agreement, Peugeot Unveil=
s Smallest Automotive Fuel Cell.

Intelligent Energy and PSA Peugeot Citro=EBn have announced a joint develop=
ment program where Intelligent Energy's automotive fuel cell systems will b=
e tested and integrated in PSA Peugeot Citro=EBn's electric vehicles.  Unde=
r this joint program, Intelligent Energy will deliver a series of advanced,=
 compact and efficient 10kW PEM systems, which will be configured to fit wi=
thin PSA Peugeot Citro=EBn's electric vehicle architecture and tested exten=
sively  with vehicle track and road testing in France and England.  In rela=
ted news, Peugeot unveiled the smallest fuel cell currently available for c=
ars and pledged further research to halve the price by 2010.  The Genepac f=
uel cell is 80-kW and can run for 500 km (310 miles).

Masterflex to Supply Fuel Cell Bikes to EU Project.

Masterflex AG will supply fuel cell cargo bikes as part of the EU HyChain M=
initrans project.  The trans-regional HYCHAIN MINITRANS project will entail=
 the operation of 150 small and lightweight vehicles powered by fuel cells,=
 as well as the generation, storage and logistic distribution of hydrogen. =
 Masterflex AG intends to deploy at least forty of its cargo bikes in the f=
our participating regions in Germany, France, Italy and Spain.

Astris Provides Fuel Cell for Golf Cart.

Astris Energi Inc. has initiated projects with Queen's-RMC Fuel Cell Resear=
ch Centre (FCRC) and the Queen's Fuel Cell Team (QFCT).  QFCT is developing=

CIDETEC Develops Fuel Cell Bicycle.

CIDETEC-IK4 Technology Center's Energy Department has designed a prototype =
for a fuel cell bicycle.  The project, financed by the Gipuzkoa Provincial =
Government, involved using a bicycle provided by the ORBEA bicycle manufact=
uring company and a PEM fuel cell developed by CIDETEC's Center for Electro=

Nippon Oil to Install Residential Fuel Cells in Japan.

Nippon Oil Corporation (NOC) will begin installation of 1-kW kerosene-fuele=
d residential fuel cell cogeneration units in Japan.  From March 2006 to Ma=
rch 2007, NOC will place up to 100 units in homes in the Tokyo, Hokkaido, T=
ohoku and Hokuriku regions. The units (to be supplied by EBARA BALLARD Corp=
oration (EBC)) incorporate Ballard's Mark 1030 fuel cell stack and utilizes=
 fuel processing technology developed by NOC.

First Commercial Fuel Cell Installation in Delaware.

Ion Power unveiled the first commercial fuel cell installation in the state=
 of Delaware at its headquarters.  The 5 kW Plug Power GENCORE=AE is integr=
ated into the building heating system so that all the waste heat from the f=
uel cell is recovered for the heating demand of the building.  The electric=
ity is used to power a heat-pump which delivers an additional 15 kW of heat=
 into the building under typical winter conditions found in northern Delawa=
re.  The project is funded by a cooperative agreement with the Department o=
f Energy and the Green Energy Fund of the State of Delaware as a Technology=

MTI MicroFuel Cells Inc. has signed a market development agreement with SES=

Sandia and Sharp Sign Agreement.

Sandia National Laboratories and Sharp Corporation recently signed a Cooper=
ative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) to work together on renewa=
ble and alternative energy technologies, including advanced fuel cells for =
portable power applications.  The broader partnership between Sandia and Sh=
arp will focus on energy technologies, specifically photovoltaics and fuel =
cells, but the immediate focus is on portable power applications, such as t=
he use of direct methanol fuel cells to power consumer electronics like lap=
tops, cell phones, and PDAs.

Voller Receives Patent for Portable Fuel Cell System.

Voller Energy Group PLC has received notice from the Patent Office that the=
 patent 'Mains in a Box' was granted.  This patent concerns Voller's techno=
logy that enables its portable fuel cell system to safely provide mains out=
put (230 volts in Europe and 110 volts for North America) and work from int=
ernal canisters of stored hydrogen.

SFC Smart Fuel Cell Achieves Certification, Enters Alliance with LG Chem.

SFC Smart Fuel Cell AG has successfully achieved certification according to=
 DIN ISO 9001:2000 for the development, production, and marketing of fuel c=
ells and accessories.  The certificate was awarded by TUEV South Germany.  =
Also, SFC has joined forces with Korean fuel cell developer LG Chem to adva=

DOE Releases Hydrogen Manufacturing Roadmap.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has mapped the path to a hydrogen-power=
ed future in the recently released Roadmap on Manufacturing R&D for the Hyd=
rogen Economy.  The draft Roadmap is designed to guide research and develop=
ment in hydrogen manufacturing processes. It's open for public comment for =

India Develops Hydrogen Roadmap.

India's National Hydrogen Energy Board has given the green light to the 'Na=
tional Hydrogen Energy Roadmap,' submitted last year.  The roadmap has esti=
mated an investment of $5.6 billion during 2006-2020 to be spread out for r=
esearch, development and demonstration, and infrastructure for hydrogen pro=
duction, storage, transportation and distribution.  The roadmap targets one=
 million hydrogen-powered vehicles and hydrogen-based power generation of a=
bout 1,000 MW in India by 2020.

Hydrogenics to Supply Hydrogen Generators to North Dakota, Russia and Spain.

Hydrogenics Corporation was awarded a contract by Basin Electric Power Coop=
erative to supply an electrolyzer-based hydrogen refueling station for inst=
allation in Minot, North Dakota.  In addition to the core electrolyzer modu=
le, Hydrogenics is supplying the core electrolyzer module as well as compre=
ssion, storage and dispenser equipment as part of the contract.  The statio=
n is one of the first United States-based hydrogen fueling stations to use =
electricity from a wind power resource to produce hydrogen from water.  Hyd=
rogenics has also supplied an onsite electrolysis-based HySTAT(tm)-A Hydrog=
en Plant to OAO NSCHK, a state-owned utility in Novorsibirsk, Russia. The h=
igh-purity hydrogen produced by the 240Nm3/hr hydrogen generator will be us=
ed in the chemical processes at the nuclear power plant. Installation and c=
ommissioning is scheduled for Spring 2006.   In Spain, Gas Natural will use=
 a Hydrogenics' HySTAT(tm)-A Hydrogen Station at the Sotavento Galicia wind=
 farm to produce up to 60 Nm3/hr of hydrogen.  The hydrogen will be used to=
 fuel an internal combustion engine generator, which in turn will supply el=
ectricity to the electric grid.

Gas Technology Institute (GTI) has completed the development of a new hydro=
gen dispenser control technology and received notification from the U.S. Pa=
tent and Trademark Office that a U.S. patent will be awarded on this techno=

Connecticut Clean Energy Fund is accepting applications for its $21 million=
 On-site Renewable Distributed Generation Program, which includes fuel cell=

Codes & Standards for the Hydrogen Economy.

The Department of Energy is sponsoring a national effort by industry, gover=
nment, and standards and model code development organizations to prepare, r=
eview, and promulgate the codes and standards needed to expedite hydrogen i=

tion decision on hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.  $6 million is expected to be=

DOE Issues $100 Million Fuel Cell R&D Solicitation.

DOE has issued a fuel cell research and development solicitation that will =
provide funding of up to $100 million over four years to support the Presid=
ent's Hydrogen Fuel Initiative.  DOE seeks to advance fuel cell technology =
toward technical performance and cost targets set for 2010, which have been=
 developed through the FreedomCAR and Fuel Partnership.  Proposals are soug=
ht in the following topic areas: improved fuel cell membranes, water transp=
ort within the stack, advanced cathode catalysts and supports, cell hardwar=

The London Hydrogen Partnership is assisting 2 London boroughs with a Call =

The Direct Methanol Fuel Cell Corporation (DMFCC), a subsidiary of VIASPACE=
 Inc., has filed an additional patent on its fuel cell cartridge technology=
, titled "Fuel Cell Cartridge with Flexible Fuel Container."  DMFCC's fuel =
cell cartridge is designed to meet the strict safety standards proposed by =
the International Electrotechnical Commission.  DMFCC has also exercised an=
 option and signed two license agreements with the California Institute of =
Technology and the University of Southern California for an extensive joint=
 patent portfolio on direct organic fuel cell technology.  Together, the tw=
