PG&E Receives Three F-Cell Vehicles.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has received three hydrogen-powered=
 DaimlerChrysler F-Cell fuel cell vehicles.  The vehicles will supply Daiml=
erChrysler and PG&E with operational experience and technical data that wil=
l help improve the next generation of fuel cell vehicles.  The data collect=
ed will also contribute to the U.S. Department of Energy's Hydrogen Learnin=
g Demonstration Project and support the federal Freedom Car Program.

NYPA and NYC Transit to Power Facility with Fuel Cell.

The New York Power Authority (NYPA) and MTA New York City Transit (NYC Tran=
sit) have agreed on a $2 million project to power an expanded subway and bu=
s maintenance facility with a 200-kW fuel cell.  The fuel cell's residual h=
eat, approximately 700,000 Btu per hour, will be used for the shop's domest=
ic hot water system.  In case of a power disruption, the fuel cell will aut=
omatically supply electricity to the building's non-emergency lights.=20

Hydrogenics Delivers Fuel Cell Backup Generator to Bell Canada.

Hydrogenics Corporation has successfully delivered and commissioned a hydro=
gen fuel cell backup power generator at a Bell Canada telecommunication sit=
e in Burlington, Ontario.  The backup power generator, developed in collabo=
ration with Emerson Network Power, uses Hydrogenics' 8 kW HyPM=AE XR fuel c=
ell power module. This project, announced in 2005 as part of Toronto's Hydr=
ogen Village initiative, was made possible through an investment from the G=
overnment of Canada's 'Hydrogen Early Adopters' program (h2EA).

Protonex Develops APU for Military.

Protonex Technology Corporation has developed a quiet, durable, energy-dens=
e fuel cell auxiliary power unit (APU) for use by the U.S. military as a re=
fuelable power source.  The system will provide 150 to 250 watts of power f=
or electronic and communications equipment for U.S. forces, which may requi=
re several days of quiet power for a single mission.  The APU combines Prot=
onex's fuel cell system with Hydrogen on Demand=AE sodium borohydride fueli=
ng technology developed by Millennium Cell Inc.  The system will be capable=

Air Products Opens Riverside Fueling Station.

Air Products opened its newest hydrogen fueling station in Riverside, Calif=
ornia as part of a five-city hydrogen fueling alternative energy demonstrat=
ion program being implemented by the South Coast Air Quality Management Dis=
trict (AQMD).   The station will fuel electric hybrid Toyota Prius=AE vehic=
les converted to use hydrogen by Quantum Technologies.

EMG and BP to Build $1 Billion Hydrogen-Fueled Power Plant in California.

Edison Mission Group (EMG) and BP are planning a new $1-billion hydrogen-fu=
eled power plant in California that would generate clean electricity with m=
inimal carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.  The first-of-its-kind plant would b=
e located alongside BP's Carson refinery, about 20 miles south of Los Angel=
es, and would be capable of producing 500 megawatts (MW) of low-carbon gene=
ration, enough power to serve 325,000 Southern California homes.

Voller Signs MOU with Calor Gas, ZBT.

Voller Energy Group PLC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with=
 Calor Gas Limited.  This MOU is for an initial period of 2 years and then =
will continue indefinitely unless terminated by either of the parties.  Vol=
ler Energy and Calor Gas will work together to develop the market for fuel =
cell generators and battery chargers.   Voller also signed a joint developm=
ent agreement with one of Germany's leading science research institutes, Ze=
ntrum f=FCr Brennstoffzellen Technik GmbH (ZBT), to extract the hydrogen th=

Nanomix Issued Two U.S. Patents.

Nanomix Inc. was issued two additional U.S. patents related to hydrogen sto=

USDA invites applications for FY 2006 funding under the Renewable Energy Sy=
stems and Energy Efficiency Improvements Program to support renewable energ=
y systems purchases and energy efficiency improvements. The program is desi=
gned to help agricultural producers and rural small businesses in eligible =
rural areas reduce energy costs and consumption.  Approximately $11.4 milli=
on is available to support competitive grants. Approximately $176.5 million=
 in guaranteed loan authority also is available. For renewable energy syste=
ms, grants may range from $2,500 to $500,000. For energy efficiency improve=

The FY2007 Budget requests $23.6 billion for the U.S. Department of Energy =
(DOE), including $1.2 billion for the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renew=
able Energy (EERE).  Much of this funding is an integral part of the Advanc=
ed Energy Initiative and expands key programs that focus on developing new =
energy choices, including hydrogen fuel technology ($114 million) and fuel =
