just observe your dialog in this consensus discussion--both parties had 
interesting things to say--but then it became a question of who is right--and 
conflict will never be resolved by who is right and who is wrong--look at the root 
of conflict and you can find the root of misery

to use consensus it must be consented to by all involved and thus by its very 
nature cannot be forced upon anyone

when used well it allows everyone to come to a place of mutual acceptance but 
not always mutual agreement
