As for the Bummer as a tour vehicle, truth is, one of those small school
buses gets better miles per gallon (about 15mpg for a gas version) than a
regular length Bummer (which they also have in other photos), I can't
imagine the horrible mileage the limo version gets in contrast - so if
they are aiming for effectiveness and sustainability, there are better
choices for transportation. It is not like there is any free fuel, even
if it is "renewable" - there are environmental issues with any form of
energy, even hydrogen if not stored properly, can damage the ozone layer
if it gets released in that form. And generally hydrogen fuel uses
hydrocarbons to produce, although any energy input could be used, but
even if they produce it using solar, solar panels still take energy to
produce and have a limited lifespan. 

And tell me if I'm wrong, but doesn't burning veggie oil (a hydrocarbon,
which their website mentions as a fuel they use as well as hydrogen) also
produce CO2 and contribute to global warming - a bigger issue than
running out of oil if you ask me - and yes, it is current carbon rather
than fossil fuel, but that still doesn't mean it should be used
wastefully. Just because they have renewable energy is not a reason to
take the "we're wasteful Americans, aren't we hip?" attitude, because it
is that attitude that got us into the mess in the first place. I don't
think one can be sustainable and wasteful at the same time - kind of a
contradiction there...

What they are doing with their household water seems really cool, good
stuff for the rest of us to copy, and they say they grow their own food
too (but as someone who grows food I have no idea how they have so much
time or energy for _yoga_! or doing that thing where they look like they
are hanging out in trash bags full of dye on the "health" page - is
_that_ sustainable? What on earth _is_ that?), but maybe there is a
feeling of entitlement that comes along with such a success, ahh,
entitlement, another tough one...
