Hello all,

I've been reading and studying and changing my life (hopefully for more
sustainable living) for over 15 years. Just wanted to share some things.

I've just found Coop America, and National Green Pages, I guess they've been
around for over 20 years, and I'm impressed that they are spreading the word
about companies and small businesses that are "green" and have "green"
philosophies. Have other people seen this group? They are at www.coopamerica.org.

The reason why I brought them up (Coop America) is because a similar idea was
hopping around in my head for over 3 years. I kept wondering if there was an
organization that would consist of individuals who were concerned about the
environment and the way we lived, who were looking for better organic foods and
wanted to support organic farming, who wanted to consume "green" goods, and
if they could form a group that would be able to start businesses with the
support of each other. Well, Coop America seems to fit the bill. They are
growing, and the more we support each other, the more this country is going to
change for the better.

Another concern I have is the attachment of my friends and neighbors and
relatives to borrowed money AND credit cards. If one can keep borrowing down to
their house mortgage, that's probably as careful as one should have to be. But
if you can't live on your income without credit cards, one should downsize
until they can. This FUELS the banks and corporations that we are trying NOT to
support. If you can, read the book "It's Your Money, Take It To the Bank" by
Dr. Eldon Clothier. It's a Family Credit Union Concept, which has worked in
his case wonderfully. My family is starting one this year. How would you like
to be your own investor? Your own Money Manager? Your own lender? In 2 or
3 years, you can do all that and more, and help your family get out of debt.
All these things help us NOT support the powers that be.

Well, just a few ramblings. Comments welcome.

Deborah
