Yes, definitely building and working OK. I'm not sure that the results
are 100 percent what they expected output should be, but in general,
everything seems to be working without blowing up or producing anything
too bizarre.

The current Cygwin setup includes an Expat package (1.95.5). I have that
installed.

I also have XML::Parser installed, though I don't remember whether I had
to install that manually or not. It's not installed as part of the
Cygwin Perl 5.8 install? If not, I'm sure I must have installed it just
by doing a perl command-line CPAN install, which seems like it could be
automated in  the docbook2X Makefile if needed.

Well, after browsing through CVS, I see that you made a fix for a
previous segfault problem in the catalog code -- same code where this is
showing up, so I can't help thinking it must be related in some way.
