The segfault seems to happen when SGML catalogs are used, as can be seen from 
the backtrace.  I use XML catalogs here, so I don't see the problem. 
(Probably also explains why it doesn't happen on Redhat or Cygwin).

I tried moving my /etc/xml/catalog, so that it would use SGML catalogs, but I 
still don't see the problem.  Maybe you have an entry in the SGML catalog 
that I don't have and it causes libxml2 to fail.

Right now I will try to check if I am using the libxml2 API correctly...
