As far as *i* know, it was all Europeanized in 1995.  Other than
that there seems to be a many-hundred-year history on this law,
with major changes in the 19th century.  Wz thus seems to refer to
the pre-1995 era, whereas we (here) all remember and still see
(huh?!?) the non-abbreviated "Eingetragenes Warenzeichen"
(registered trademark).
