Help request for a newbie

Hi

I am new to XML-RPC. I wish to access an application running on an 
Apache server from a Javascript running under Internet Explorer (IE), 
using XML-RPC. Both machines are internal to our company. The script 
is stored on the local PC running IE. I am using the jsolait library 
to provide XML-RPC access to my script.

I have proved by another means that the server application does 
service XML-RPC calls.

When I run the Javascript in IE, I get the following exception 
message:

RequestOpenFailed [module 'urllib' version: 1.1.3] Opening of HTTP
request failed.

The script is known to run under Safari in the author's environment 
(in another company) but has not been proven under IE.

Is this an IE security issue?

I would be grateful for any suggestions how to fix this problem.
