That should be easy using the JAR >Service API. They should do that but they need to modify the=20 source code too. Remember this has to work back=20 at least as far as Java 1.1, and possibly 1.0.=20 (Do any SAX parsers support Java 1.0? I'm not=20 sure.) Furthermore it should work when someone=20 installs from source rather than jar, or mucks=20 with the classpath in strange ways. The classpath=20 in Java is a huge honking mess, and should not be=20 relied on. If the VM can find XMLReaderFactory=20 in the first place, then=20 XMLReaderFactory.createXMLReader() should work,=20 period. Remeber, we're only talking about the=20 fallback position that takes effect when the=20 org.xml.sax.driver property isn't set ands there=20 is no appropriate META-INF. -- Elliotte Rusty Harold [email protected] Effective XML (Addison-Wesley, 2003) http://www.cafeconleche.org/books/effectivexml http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN%3D0321150406/ref%3Dnosim/cafeaulai= tA ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: The Robotic Monkeys at ThinkGeek For a limited time only, get FREE Ground shipping on all orders of $35 or more.
