Actually I found a worse problem : the getPointAtLength method.
The same example with a call of getPointAtLength in the loop and Firefox takes 320ms to execute it.
Chrome takes 8ms ! IE9 210ms and Opera 130ms.

I just wrote a small example :

On my computer, Google Chrome takes about 5ms to execute it, IE9 about 10ms, Opera 12ms, and Firefox (25) never less than 21ms. 
I'll try to give you more examples soon.

Do you have a link to an example? In order to debug the issues that you're 
encountering it would be best to have an actual example.
