The differences are as in the NEWS.pangopdf file: ------------------------------------------------------------ Overview of Changes in Pango 1.2.3.7 ==================================== * Defaults to building without PDFlib backend * Updated #include of FreeType2 headers to work with recent versions of FreeType2 ------------------------------------------------------------ The subtext is that I have a new computer which I want to leave free of PDFlib. I am reluctant to talk about next steps since I missed making a release last month, but I would like to sync PangoPDF with Pango 1.5.1 and the latest GNOME Print since what I've seen on the gtk-i18n-list and gnome-print-list recently indicate that there's less customisation required to use Pango with GNOME Print. Ideally, we can get to the point that PangoPDF can be compiled after Pango and GNOME Print and use those libraries. The step after that would be for PangoPDF to become superfluous and close down. The subtext of that is that the PDFlib backend will be dropped along the way. Anybody for a spot of PangoPDF hacking?
