More than one name for a function -- should this be allowed?

At present some implementations of EXSLT allow in addition to the dash-containing official function name another, camel-cased name. For example: nodeSet() is supported by Saxon and XalanJ but raises an error in 4XSLT, XalanC, MSXML4. I think that allowing an alternate name for a dash-containing name must be explicitly allowed or disallowed by EXSLT and this must be reflected in the EXSLT specification. In the current situation the existence of support for both types of names has created a portability problem between the two groups of XSLT processors above. My personal position is that having two names for the same function is a form of redundancy and bears with itself the disadvantages of redundancy. ===== Cheers, Dimitre Novatchev. http://fxsl.sourceforge.net/ -- the home of FXSL __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
