thanks for the offer, I had that in mind, too, but I thought: one step
at a time.

First, I think it would be great if you could continue the hosting.

Second, the standards council of Canada owns the domain and DNS is
provided by XName.org. I don't know who has access to XName.org, so I
don't know who could set up this, maybe Steve Newcomb, maybe Zbigniew
Ignatowicz whois (pun intended) Admin-C.
Strictly speaking, the domain should be transferred to the current
council but Toshiko Kimura did not respond to the mails from Ken
Holman and me (that was around March 2010). A long term solution could
be that Steve Newcomb could become Admin-C, he's hosting the site and
various others anyway and he's willing to do so if someone else
organizes it.

He (Steve Newcomb) also kindly took over tmapix.org because Lars Heuer
did not want to support it nor pay for it any longer and I thought a
forward to the Google Code project would be better than some domain
grabbers ads on it.

Concluding, practically we need to find out who has the technical
possibility to set up DNS from planet.topicmaps.org to the
topicmaps.bouvet.no server. The server needs just another virtual host
and I'd propose to set a deep-linking HTTP 301 forward.

Formally, the ownership of the domain needs to be agreed on.
From previous mails regarding this topic, the following people AFAIK
agree to transfer the domain to Steve under the premise that he
provides continuos availability: Steve Newcomb, Ken Holman, Zbigniew
Ignatowicz (SCC), James David Mason, Benjamin Bock.

As always: comments welcome. In case of general agreement: Any
volunteers to organized it and make it happen?
