Anyway, TMAPI has nothing in > common with TMQL. One of the goals of TMQL is to replace TMAPI. It should be possible to replicate all TMAPI-functionality with TMQL (and more, of course). It should even be possible to implement a TMAPI implementation on top of TMQL (for whoever wants that (-; ) With direct-types and friends, this would be easily possible. From a semantic point of view, they are not necessary. But when operating on TMDM as data, they're very helpful. You may also join the official discussion about TMQL at the ISO meeting in Prague, if you want.
