We have been waiting for you. ;-)

Seriously, I think the advent of "bigdata" (which we have always had but 
it is a convenient marketing term) is going to be one way to bring topic 
maps to the foreground.

Large piles of, err, data, mixed with other large piles of, err, data, 
will results in large piles of...., err, data (this is a family channel).

When that data crosses semantic boundaries (between entities) and or you 
need to re-use it (as opposed to the first programmer who made the first 
blind mapping of it), then you are going to feel the "topic map pinch." 
;-O Maybe I should trademark that phrase. What do you think?

The current project will be ended. It has been ten years with no 
consensus or resources to devote to reaching a consensus.

If you want to complete a substantial draft that attracts a consensus 
*before* we start a new project on a query language, we would all be 
glad to hear about it.

No, the TMDM is final. Why do you think otherwise?

As you may have read, we are trying to separately put together 
statements about where we think semantic integration will be in 5 years. 
What ideas can we build projects around to have viable new work items in 
WG 3?

Not proposals but food for thought sort of things.
