Every YAML file has its own purpose. I'm not nearly as invested in YAML as you guys, and don't have a strong opinion against complex keys. However, I would very much like to be able to advocate for use of YAML instead of JSON in a project I work on. I feel this way because I've not enjoyed all the noise and bad not-human-friendly parser behavior when using JSON. For me to be able to do this though interoperability is an issue. It doesn't need to be all YAML as long as the interoperable subset is totally clear, and the path to JSON likewise. Sounds like some good things are being considered and maybe YAML is still a realistic choice afterall.
