Thanks for the sweet words vivek i hope everyone else agrees.

What i was trying to point about firefox was that it might be faster (which i don't agree with totally) but when it comes to doing a lot of things, as in when lot of windows are open and sites being accessed, it gives away to pressure.

U know may be firefox tweaks the system for best performance so as long as you are just opening gmail or 1-2 more sites its good but when u really put load on it, it simply does not work. Why don't you give it a short ...

Something you must have noticed is when u click on the link to open firefox the window appears after a long delay while ie6 comes up almost immediately.

I really don't know how it works on linux ... but on window its not that good.

Ok and about linux, i very much agree with you on tweaking. Everyone knows about and uses MSCONFIG, but i feel certain things about linux (even after tweaking) ultimately overloads the system.

Yes i am 100% with u, linux is a programmers Paradise and no second thoughts to it.

I just feel when ever a new s/w comes every1 goes ga-ga over it ... but tell me something how many days does it really takes till we are back on windows with ie and outlook. (Now debu might be a exception to this)

I have small thing to support this... remember when gmail was launched ... every1 wanted it ... all went crazy for it !!! but was it really worth it. It offers nothing more than any other email service.
It might be fast once its interface is loaded but yahoo opens twice as fast.
Now days even hotmail are offering 250mb space (for those of u who just got up hotmail has upgraded)
And features like gmail notifier and search were being offered by other for a long time.
Something that might be different from conventional emails is the new pop access. BUT IS THAT REALLY NEW ?

Services like Spymac (www.spymac.com) Gawab (www.gawab.com) have been providing 1gb+ mailbox with pop3 access and other features for years now. Just the fact that gmail is not easily accessible to everyone makes it special ... but u know what, even the electrician in my area has a gmail account.

Services like spymac have better interface and are as fast (atleast the simple interface)... try it. (http://webmail.spymac.com) Now this is not an advertisement I am just trying to prove my theory.

"Anything that is difficult to get or hipped about becomes popular even though it might not be really worth".

and users do turn back to their old trusted ones ... i know so many people who have used gmail and returned to yahoo ...

Ok another mail becoming tooo long
Hope u had a nice time on christmas

Cheers
